TEDx Brickell – March 18 & 19 in Miami

TED who? That’s what one of my friends said.

If you haven’t heard of TED.com, it’s about time you did! TED.com is a conference that brings together the great thinkers of our time, to give the lecture of their life… in about 18 minutes!

Over the years, TED has almost grown a cult-like following and the free videos on their website are used in universities and schools all over the world. Whole blogs have been created around these vidoes and it would be safe to say that many have been inspired by the ideas that the speakers so freely share.

Attending a TED conference comes with a rather hefty price tag though (no surprise!) and there is often a long waiting list.

TEDx events on the other hand are independently organized TED conferences(minus the sticker shock) and if you’re quick, you can often snag yourself a pair of tickets.

I’m happy to say that I did just that last week and this Friday for a few hours (I couldn’t get tickets for March 18), I’m hoping I’ll be informed, entertained and inspired. I’m hoping to do some live tweeting but if not, at least a blog post with some post conference thoughts.
