TedxBrickell – March 18 -19, 2010

TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California in 1985, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

The Miami TED event is called TEDxBrickell, where ‘x’ stands for an independently organized TED event. Through the TEDx program, it is expected to extend the challenging and compelling discussions, forums and conference to a local audience based in the Miami area.

At the TEDxBrickell event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

The TEDxBrickell event is considered to be a boost to the Technology, Entertainment and Design process for Miami. The evolving nature of the downtown business district and the expansion of the mid-town areas have led the City to a new era in maturation necessitating a new school of thinking and a paradigm shift which is expected to be spear headed by the TEDxBrickell program.
